Watervliet Boys Basketball
The Watervliet varsity boys basketball team hosted South Haven on Tuesday, Feb. 3, for a divisional conference game. The men played hard and battled all night, but lost in the end, 66-38.
The Panthers (3-12, 0-7) had a tough first half, scoring just ten points, but should be commended for a productive second half, despite the outcome. The Rams led after the opening eight minutes, 16-4, before a 15-6 run in the second quarter would extend their halftime lead to 31-10. Watervliet took the third quarter by a single point, 18-17, sending the game into the fourth quarter at 48-28, where South Haven was a strong closer in this one in the final stanza, 18-10.
