3-4-5

Geometry was one of the first math classes that I enjoyed in school, maybe because it was so visual, and I could draw pictures. I had no idea that I would someday personally apply the “3-4-5 triangle rule” in one of my endeavors, as a tiler. It became one of the most useful practical applications of math, specifically the application of the “Pythagorean Theorem,” which states that the relationship among the three sides of a right triangle with sides a, b and c, and c being the longest side, is a2 + b2 = c2 or, “a squared plus b squared equals c squared.” In our title, “3-4-5,” 9+16=25. Conversely, if that relationship exists, then it is a right triangle. Very helpful in laying out a tiling project.
