We see something more of God’s persevering mercy and grace towards us by looking at Jesus’ post-resurrection encounter with Peter on a Sea of Galilee beach. Sometime between Easter and the Day of Pentecost, a few of the Jesus’ disciples had gathered and were talking when Peter, perhaps frustrated, said, “I’m going fishing.” The rest of the group present said they’d go along. So down to the Sea of Galilee they went. They got in a boat and proceeded to fish all night, catching nothing.
