The beginning of the book of Psalms starts with three phrases depicting the normal progression of evil influence in the world. “Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the guidance of the wicked, or stand in the pathway of evildoers, or sit in a seat among mockers of truth.” Walk, stand, sit. Gradually becoming more comfortable and more entrapped with evil. In the company of those motivated by evil, becoming more adept at lies, and becoming ever more amused at the prospect of doing right, sarcastically mocking opponents to their evil ways.
