Different circumstances

I recently watched a sad video showing the “Slums of North Philadelphia at night.” It starred many nameless, silent, homeless people living in tents or less, some keeping warm burning fires built from rubbish on streets under the “L” (the elevated commuter train system). The narrow, one-way streets looked familiar, with their dingy row houses and short, stone “stoops.” It looked cold and unfriendly.
