If “your eyes are the window of your soul”, then “your words are the window of your faith”. When a Roman centurion approached Jesus with a request for healing for the centurion’s young servant, his words reflected his confidence that Jesus was one with spiritual authority, and that Jesus need only say the word and the centurion’s servant would be healed. Similarly, a leprous man who came to Jesus for healing began his request with, “If you are willing, you can…” He too believed in Jesus’ power over personal details of his individual life.
