The Red Arrow Convoy is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, and features a procession of lighted semi-trucks travelling along Red Arrow Highway in West Michigan from Oshtemo toward Coloma. Kicking off around 6 p.m., the parade is designed to spread holiday cheer, illuminate the communities it travels in, and bring together local residents and truckers alike. With vehicles decked out in festive lights, this convoy marks a highlight of Michigan’s Christmas season—perfect for families, truck enthusiasts, and all who appreciate a unique holiday celebration.
Closing down Red Arrow Highway for a parade such as the annual Red Arrow Convoy is no small task; it takes weeks of coordination between organizers, law enforcement, and transportation officials. Because much of the route is part of a state and county roadway system, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Berrien and Van Buren County road commissions must approve permits well in advance. The Hartford City Council voted their approval of supplying manpower to have the convoy safely pass through Hartford.
Organizers submit a detailed traffic control plan outlining detours, barricade locations, and safety measures. Local police and fire departments play a vital role, providing escorts and ensuring emergency access remains open during the event. Most closures are rolling, meaning traffic is stopped only as the convoy passes through each community, minimizing disruption while still allowing for safe viewing.
