Hartford Football

The Hartford varsity football team traveled to Cassopolis on Friday, Sept. 25, for a conference game, looking to end their two-game losing skid and avoid falling below .500 for the first time this year. They played against the Rangers whom they have defeated two straight years by a mere two points. When the final seconds ticked off the scoreboard after four quarters of fierce competition on the road, the Huskies would be heavily on the losing end of the final score, 47-6.

In the first quarter, it looked like it might be a close game early on, despite Cassopolis scoring the first points of the evening on a touchdown pass just seconds in (the extra point attempt was blocked). At the 3:36 mark, after a 60-yard-plus run up the far sideline pushed Hartford deep into the red zone, the drive ended with points on a one-yard touchdown plunge by Mason Mireles. They went for a kick on the point-after attempt, but the try was blocked, tying the game at six.
