Governor Whitmer pardons Thanksgiving turkey sisters Faygo & Vernors
Michigan’s governor Gretchen Whitmer continued the Thanksgiving tradition of pardoning a turkey. This year, Governor Whitmer pardoned two turkey sisters. The winning names, Faygo and Vernors, were selected through a bracket-style competition on social media. These names were selected from 1,500 entries in the yearly statewide contest and voted on by thousands of Michiganders all across the state. GETTING A VOICE… On Nov. 11, 2025, a group of Hartford student-athletes selected by their coaches had the opportunity to attend the MHSAA Sportsmanship Summit held in Kalamazoo at the Radisson Plaza. Students were engaged in sessions with other students from the Southwest Michigan Area. Turkey and Chicken Give-a-Way Event at Living Water Food Pantry serves 91 families
THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, BLESSED… Monday was such a great day for a Turkey and Chicken Give-a-Way Event at Living Water Food Pantry. With so many smiling faces of volunteers and clients it warmed everyone’s heart. Living Water Food Pantry at Watervliet’s Free Methodist Church on Paw Paw Avenue was able to serve 91 families which consisted of 257 individuals.
